As one of the most architecturally significant hotels in the Alpine region, Grand Hotel Kronenhof, affectionately known as the “Grande Dame”, boasts over 175 years of history.

the hotel

As a unique mix of times long past, modern comforts and the strikingly beautiful mountains and nature that surround it, the hotel has a contemporary, yet ornate aesthetic. Every one of its rooms has its own character and charm, exuding opulence and luxury.

Today, we’re regarded as one of the best-preserved grand hotels from the 19th century in the Alps and a dramatic setting for the most unparalleled of weddings.

The Destination

Grand Hotel Kronenhof is situated in the idyllic Engadin village of Pontresina, just six kilometres or 10 minutes journey from St. Moritz. Guests first arriving at this historic mountaineering village will be immediately captivated with the village itself. The charm of the traditional Engadin houses and the elegance of the Belle Époque hotels quickly transport you to a classic former age.

The region offers once-in-a-lifetime experiences amidst natural beauty, as well as tranquillity when you so desire it. At 1,805 metres above sea level, the area is remarkably beautiful and is wind-sheltered, thanks to its protection by high mountain ranges. It is renowned for its sunny climate and wide, open trails.

Guests can reach this awe-inspiring destination via the well-developed road network, by the Rhaetian Railway or, if travelling from afar, by air. The hotel is a threehour drive away from the Zurich and Milan airports.

We also offer a complimentary transfer to and from Pontresina station with the hotel’s limousine and can arrange a bus transfer for larger groups.

Three seasons, one romantic setting

Very few hotels are open for three full seasons in the Engadin, but Grand Hotel Kronenhof is here for your enjoyment summer, autumn and winter.

We would never miss a chance to embrace all this alpine beauty!
